Federation Family,<br>
I hope that all of you had a fun, safe, and fulfilling Thanksgiving. We
had company in town for the weekend, and between them and the convention,
I’m still catching up on sleep.<br>
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for making
this convention such an incredible success. From the first sessions to
the last gavel drop, I could not have asked for a more generous,
enthusiastic, and committed gathering of friends and family. It was truly
a memorable experience.<br>
Here are just some of the highlights from this year’s gathering:
<ul>
<li>The bake auction was a tremendous success, bringing in exactly
$4000.
<li>The casual dinner, which we hosted for the first time this year, had
78 people in attendance. For what it’s worth, I was going to count us
extremely lucky if we had gotten just 50 people.
<li>We had a dynamic group of presenters, including the Lieutenant
Governor and a speech from Bev Stavrum that absolutely brought the house
down.
<li>Judy Sanders has been elected as the new president of our Senior
Division, and Cody Beardslee has been re-elected to the presidency of our
Student Division.
<li>This year we welcome Dave Andrews to our state board of directors.
<li>We passed resolutions calling for accessibility in autonomous
vehicles and commending Representative Karen Clark for her decades of
service promoting equality for the blind.
</ul>We will have a full write-up in the next issue of the Minnesota
Bulletin with all the details, andhint hintif anyone is interested in
writing about their experience, we could potentially put it up on our
brand new website.<br>
Thank you to all of you for gathering door prizes, baking, chairing
committees, taking registration, sharing your knowledge with one another,
presenting on the agenda, and all the dozens of other things that make
conventions as tremendous as this one was. I appreciate you.<br>
