It’s almost here! We’ll be gathering in just four days for our Fall
convention, and I can’t wait! … but I guess I have to. Here are a few
notes you’ll want to know as you pack your bags.<br>

<h2><b>Splish splash!</b></h2><br><br>
You know how you go to convention, and the hotel often has a great pool,
but you never have time to swim in it? This year you’ll get that chance
because our hospitality event will be a pool party. If you don’t want to
swim, there will be plenty of spaces for fun and conversation nearby as
well. Either way, we’ll also have snacks available, and we won’t even
tell your mom if you swim less than an hour after eating. Just please
don’t eat in the pool.<br>
As you’re packing your suitcase, don’t forget to throw in that
swimsuit.<br>

<h2><b>Deal me In</b></h2><br><br>
Opposite the student meeting on Friday evening, we’ll be hosting an
evening of Braille games and casual conversation. We want to celebrate
the fun we can have with Braille, so I encourage you to bring any cards
or games you would like to share with your federation friends. I’ve even
heard rumors an edition or two of Uno Braille will be available.<br>

<h2><b>Shake it Up</b></h2><br><br>
As you may know, one of the fun parts of our general sessions is the door
prize drawings. We depend on donations from businesses and individuals to
ensure we have things to give away. If you have prizes to contribute, you
can bring them to the door prize table on Saturday morning. Please place
a Braille label on the prize informing our team of what it is. If you
need assistance with this, someone at the convention will be able to help
you.<br>
<br><br>
<h2><b>Bake it up</b></h2><br><br>
The bake auction is one of our largest fundraisers, and we need your
culinary expertise to make it a success. Please bring your bake auction
items to the bake auction table on Saturday morning, and as with the door
prizes, Braille labels are a must. We would also appreciate notification
of any major allergens your items contain, such as nuts. Next stop:
Tastyville.<br>

<h2><b>Resumé – Ooh La La</b></h2><br><br>
One of the components of the skills fair we will be hosting this year
will be the opportunity to have your resumés and cover letters proofread
and polished. If you are interested in sharing either or both of these
with our team of experts, please bring them on your computer or on a
thumb drive. It may be possible to email them, but given the fickle
nature of hotel wi-fi, a physical medium is preferable.<br>
