I was set to write you an email all about how the Access Technology
Affordability Act, a piece of legislation that, if passed, would make it
easier for blind people to get access to assistive technology, has been
included in the house reconciliation bill, meaning it stands a good
chance of passing there. I was also going to write you about how we need
to make sure this bill passes in the senate, so we need to contact our
senators to make sure they both sign onto the bill. I was going to tell
you that Senator Tina Smith has already signed onto the Senate version of
the bill, and I was going to ask you to contact Senator Amy Klobuchar to
make sure she signs on as well. But now I’m not going to do any of that,
because I just received some excellent news from our national
office.<br><br>
Senator Amy Klobuchar is now a co-sponsor on the Access Technology
Affordability Act in the Senate! Both Minnesota senators are signed
on!<br><br>
Thank you to everyone who sent emails, made phone calls, and participated
in the Washington Seminar. This is a fun accomplishment to be able to
cheer about, and I’m honored to share it with you. If you’re bummed you
don’t get to make a phone call, though, I encourage you to contact
