Are you interested in attending the National Federation of the Blind

Convention in Houston, TX, from July 1-6, 2023, but need financial

assistance to do so? The NFB of MN is offering funding to members who

meet certain requirements. Please note that completing an application

does not guarantee receiving assistance since funds are limited.<br><br>

 <br><br>

To be eligible for funding, you must be a member in good standing of the

National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota and meet the other

requirements listed below. Please note that BLIND, Incorporated students

and staff are not eligible for funding through this process, because we

grant funds separately to BLIND Incorporated for this purpose. If you

To be considered for financial assistance, you must:

<ul>

<li>Have never attended a national convention, or, if assistance was

previously provided, be a member in good standing of the National

Federation of the Blind of Minnesota.

<li>Be willing to consider having at least one roommate for the duration

of the convention. Every effort will be made to accommodate the

preferences and needs of assistance recipients during this process. If

you are unable to have a roommate for any reason, please do not let this

discourage you from applying.

<li>Attend the banquet held on the final night of the convention.

<li>Attend the national board meeting, all general sessions, and at least

three special interest or committee meetings.

<li>Agree to work at least one shift at the NFB of Minnesota table or the

Independence Market in the exhibit hall.

<li>Report back to your chapter regarding at least one special interest

or committee meeting.

<li>Agree to read and abide by the National Federation of the Blind's

Code of Conduct.

<li>Complete and submit your application no later than May 5, 2023. (The

actual application says May 1, but we will accept applications until May

5.)
