Minnesota’s application to apply for financial assistance to attend the
2024 National Convention</a> is now available. Applications are due by
Friday, May 17 at 11:59 pm Central Daylight Time. Â Information that you
submit will be held in strict confidence by members of the financial
assistance committee, the affiliate president, and the affiliate
treasurer.<br><br>
 <br><br>
The National Federation of the Blind convention will be held July 3-8 at
the Rosen Centre Hotel, 9840 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819.

 <br><br>
Each year, the National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota Board of
Directors authorizes the president to offer funding for members who wish
to attend the National Convention and need financial assistance in order
to do so. Preference is given to those who have never attended our
National Convention before, but members who have previously attended the
National Convention are also eligible to apply.<br><br>

In order to receive assistance, applicants must:<br><br>

<li>Be a member in good standing of the National Federation of the Blind
of Minnesota. (Note: Membership is not a requirement for those who are
new to participation in Federation activities.)
<li>Attend all general sessions, the national board meeting, the banquet,
and at least three special interest or committee meetings.
<li>Fulfill post-event activities, such as writing an article or
delivering a presentation to your local chapter about your experience and
activities conducted during our National Convention.
<li>Submit any and all receipts for reimbursement within thirty (30) days
after returning from the National Convention; sooner is preferred.
<li>Agree to read and abide by the National Federation of the Blind's
Code of Conduct.

the application</a> no later than May 17, 2024 at 11:59 pm Central

Airfare: While departure from, and return to Minnesota are preferred,
exceptions, such as for students attending college or interning out of
state, may be considered at the discretion of the State Affiliate
President and the Financial Assistance committee.<br><br>

Food and Incidentals: For those receiving financial assistance for food
and incidentals, these funds will be distributed just prior to National
Convention by check or pre-paid card.<br><br>
Note: financial assistance from the National Federation of the Blind of
Minnesota may not cover all costs associated with attending the National
Convention.<br><br>
