Dear fellow Federationists, <br><br>

I am writing to share an update about our friend and member Jen Sawczyn

as well as invite us once again to stand with her family during this

difficult time.<br><br>

Just before our opening session Friday morning, Jenn lost consciousness

and was taken by paramedics to the hospital. She continues to be in the

ICU at Mayo Clinic and has not yet woken up. Recent MRI results don\u2019t

give us many answers, but the good news is that they also don\u2019t show

anything alarmingly negative. She has begun to respond to pain, they\u2019ve

traced nerves in her arms to send a signal to her brain, and she has

coughed some.<br><br>

The medical team is working to gently reduce her sedation, giving her

brain more time and space to begin waking up. Neurology isn\u2019t making

promises, but based on what they\u2019re seeing, they believe recovery is

still possible. They also detected a few very small blood clots in her

lungs and have started blood thinners to keep them from becoming a bigger

issue.<br><br>

Please keep Jen, Steve, Marcus, Gabby, and their family close in your

thoughts as they face each day.<br><br>
