Each year, thousands of Federation members and friends contribute before
and during the National Convention to various funds that support blind
people. I just made my donation, and I challenge you to do the
same.<br><br>

For every $25 that you as a Minnesota member give to the Lead and Drive
campaign before June 30: <br><br>
<ul>
<li>The Minnesota affiliate will match your contribution (up to a total
of $6,000)
<li>An anonymous donor will match your contribution (up to a total of
$25,000)
<li>You\u2019ll be entered into a drawing to have your convention expenses
paid for next year (and just in case you can\u2019t go, you could just walk
away with $2,500 in cash!)

We\u2019re calling this the Lead and Drive campaign, because the National
Federation of the Blind continues to lead courageously and drive lasting
change in the lives of blind people across the country. <br><br>
<br><br>
It\u2019s imperative that you either mail a check to the affiliate or
forward us a copy of your receipt to Jennifer Dunnam
(<a href="mailto:jennifer.dunnam1829@gmail.com">
jennifer.dunnam1829@gmail.com</a>) so that the NFB of Minnesota can match
your gift. Up to $6,000 from individuals is matched by up to $6,000 from
the affiliate treasury!<br><br>

For the first time, we also have a toolkit available to make it easier to
ask your friends and family to donate. You\u2019ll find

social media posts and email templates on the Lead and Drive page of our

<li>Mail a check by following these steps:
<ol>
<li>Make the check payable not to the Minnesota affiliate but instead to
the National Federation of the Blind
<li>List the fund(s) to which you wish to contribute in the memo line
<li>Send the check to the National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota,
2801 Hennepin Avenue S #126, Minneapolis, MN 55408. The treasurer will
collect the checks until June 30, then mail all the checks, along with
the affiliate's matching check, to the national office.

Most importantly, we must receive a copy of your donation receipt or
check by June 30 to be included in the match. You should email your
receipt to our treasurer, Jennifer Dunnam

reply.<br><br>

Here is a little more about the four funds:<br><br>
<ul>
<li>White Cane Fund: These dollars go directly to the general treasury of
the Federation.
<li>Kenneth Jernigan Fund: The proceeds from this fund are used to bring
a number of attendees to their first national convention. It is named in
honor of our former president and longtime leader to promote attendance
at the national convention, where so much inspiration and learning
occur.
<li>SUN Fund: These funds are being set aside in the event that they
are needed to support the Federation during difficult times.
<li>tenBroek Fund: These dollars go to the tenBroek Memorial Fund which
owns the property at 200 East Wells at Jernigan Place in Baltimore for
the benefit of blind people.
