>> Hi All,
>>
>> I would like to provide a quick update on the Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act (TCIEA) and the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act. On February 27 and February 28, the TCIEA was introduced in the Senate and House respectively. Their bill numbers are S. 533 and H.R 1263. S. 533 was introduced by Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Steve Daines (R-MT). H.R 1263 was introduced by Representatives Bobby Scott (D-VA) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). It’s time to start building cosponsors for both versions of this important legislation that would phase out over a five-year period the payment of subminimum wages for workers with disabilities.
>>
>> Also, on February 28, the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act, H.R 1328 was introduced by Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) with 32 original cosponsors. H.R 1328 is a strong bill and we believe will gain much support from members of the House. We are still working on the Senate version and hope to have it also introduced in the near future. We appreciate the hard work done thus far, but it’s only the beginning and I’m excited for the journey we will take together during the 118th Congress advocating for all our legislative priorities!
>>
>> Thanks,
>>
