[musictlk] piano style of guitar or lap tapping style of guitar

hello - 
 does anyone know how to play guitar in the piano style? or the lap tapping style? 
 these are basically the same if not the same. 
 my friend Jeff Williams can do it but he's not to sure how to explain it. 
 lol i keep telling him to make a DVD that way he can show everyone how to do it but he won't. oh well. do any of you guys know how to do it?
