For a musical gift for Christmas you might consider giving a talking mp3
player from accessible electronics. They play multiple formats from wav to
flac and m4p, have an fm radio, and have useful features for musicians as the
ability to decrease the speed of a passage you might be trying to learn
without altering the pitch. The menus and functions speak and are easy to use.
It can also record as well. I have a unit with an 8G base memory and a 32 G
microhd card for a total of 40G storage. It has a USB connector and an
earphone jack. Charge on the battery is around 15 hours and it can be recharged
via computer or wall charger. Excellent tutorials are available for the unit
also. I have put a 64g micro sd card on my christmas wish list this year. And
the price is under $100 for the unit. It comes with the rock box utility
build in so it has other features as well and sighted folks seem to like mine
pretty well.
Here is where you can find out more:

the company is run by a blind guy as well and the tech support is very
good.
