I can finish a song minus a string  but a whole set would be lacking theory 
or no theory. Some things aren't doablle with 5 strings (unless you are 
Keith Richards) and if it is a g or b srtring some chord voicings aren't 
available. so I bring 2 guitars. My audiences aren't shortchanged that way. In the 
cover bands I play in I often have to sound like 10 different guitar 
players anyway so the more flexable I am the better.
