[musictlk] Generally available music repository?

Hi, Kirk,

I wonder at what point you'll hit (or might it) copyright issues. I love the idea of not recreating the transcription wheel, and I know there are legal and semi-legal websites around with guitar tabs etc for lots of music. It seems like the sort of thing that might require various kinds of password protection and such to keep it legal unless it's all in the public domain already. I do think it's a great idea; I just worry about the details a bit.

Peace,

sheri

Yes, thank you. I was hoping to not re-invent a wheel that might
already have been built. If there is enough interest and no such
repository available, I can fairly easily set-up a wiki which would
have the added benefit over a wordpress blog of allowing others to
participate in editting and putting up their own contributions. I'm
happy to do something along those lines if there is interest. I just
don't want to step on someone elses toes.

One thing you can do, is set up a free wordpress blog, where you can share the files. You can write posts explaining the files, and ad them to your media library, or copy and paste them onto your blog as individual blog posts. This is just a suggestion, that way blind and sighted musicians alike can learn from them.
Love and prayers,

Subject: [musictlk] Generally available music repository?

Hello folks: When I am attempting to learn a piece of music I
typically set up a file and start writing out the tunes changes and
lyrics and melody/bridge etc. I've been thinking I should probably
share these files with other blind musicians to help spread the wealth
so to speak. So I thought I would ask on here if anyone knows of a
repository of pieces any blinks from around the world can access? If
so, could you please let us know what it is. If not, is this something
people would be interested in participating to set-up?
