I would appreciate your thoughts.

I have said several times to the music director of a civic chorus in my city
that I would like to audition to sing with them.  Every time I mention it to
him, he says he doesn't need any more sopranos, he needs altos, every time
I've asked him over the last several years.  My feeling is that he doesn't
want the look of a blind (person) soprano, plus the fact that I would need
to ride with someone in the group.
