Hi Mike,

I've never played a lap steel, but you might want to feel for the 
frets with your fingers, as you would playing the
iano.  Practice will develop muscle memory in your fingers.

Does anybody have tips on playing a lap steel?  The problem I'm 
having is that my bar hand is obstructing my sight of the fret 
and it's difficult to get the exact tone on the fret that I want.  
With my low vision it's hard to see the fret and precisely 
position my hand.  Any suggestions?
