I'm not totally sure.  You usually pluck, but sometimes you strum 
to achieve a specific effect.  It's called glissando, which means 
to slide quickly from one note to another.

Having never played one, I do not know.  Are there other ways to 
play besides plucking.  Do you strum like a guitar? I feel like 
an idiot.
