Hey Chris I have over 50 years of performing experience. I'm 66 and am
principal trumpet in the allegany community symphony Orchestra and principal
in the Arion band of Frostburg. I did some arranging while I was majoring
in studio music and jazz at Miami of Florida. When I did arrangements, I
had to use the old fashioned manual method which involved finding people who
were both good cophyists and good musicians themselves which is not an easy
process. I took a composition by the Thad Jones Mel Lewis jazz orchestra
and scored it for the jazz band I was in. I played Thad's part on
Flugelhorn and also soloed on the piece. What Nick needs to do is learn to
think line an arranger. Hopefully this helps.

Hi Fellow Musicians:

Please see below a request for help on behalf of a student who is interested
in creating accessible production software geared toward blind musicians. I
urge those who think they can help, particularly those of you who are
experienced in audio engineering and music production, to contact Nick
directly. I hope we can once again use BMG as a networking tool for those
who are making efforts to increase accessibility for us.

> I?m writing to you to ask if you?d be willing to connect with a new friend
of mine, Nick, who is creating an accessible music composition program for
his graduate thesis project. Nick is looking to speak with musicians from
varying backgrounds, whether your background is in performance, composition,
sound engineering, or if it?s just your hobby. I?m including Nick on the
?To? field of this email, and I?m hoping to help him get in touch with each
of you as I think you can contribute a lot of knowledge and experience to
his project. Additionally, I?m hoping you can introduce him to your fellow
musicians so that he has better variancy in interview candidates.
