I will be joining this—great chance to do my favorite piece in the whole, wide world in its original language, and to re-condition my voice after not being able to sing with a physical group for so long. Not the same as meeting physically, but I’ll take it! Hope some of you can participate, too.

Please forward this to your entire choir, students,  and choral colleagues so that some more of us Americans can join the virtual bandwagon (or just observe it) and keep up our vocal skills. Anyone can tune in via youtube  this Thursday, and there will be warmups included in the broadcast. To be clear, you will hear a virtual broadcast featuring professional singers, orchestra and soloists, with a conductor for you to  follow, all recorded in video from isolation. No amateur singers in this choir yet. That virtual performance will be shown at a later time. During the performance viewers can chat and make comments among themselves when viewing the actual premiere at this time. It can be viewed later using the same link, and then comments may be allowed but not the interactive chat function.

FIRST CONCERT

We have the first concert LIVE with Harry on Thursday 5th November at 12:30 GMT. We shall sing to the RECORDARE CHAMBER CHOIR and Richard Gowers on piano. Harry will be LIVE at about 12 noon and will lead us through a warm-up before we start. Guests are invited of course and please let them know that the concert itself will commence at 12:30pm although they are most welcome to meet Harry and enjoy his unique warm-up if they wish!

We have added tracks with each voice part LOUDER so that you can listen to this when recording, as I know this helps many of you.

Please remember you are not required to record and submit your voice - you can do one part, two parts or them all. It is entirely up to you and you are no less a member of the choir should you decide not to submit at all.

This is a BIG SING so we shall keep the Dropbox links open until 31st December at 22:00. So you have until just before the New Year to submit your recordings.

We shall then get to work in the studio and combine all the voices for The Self-Isolation Choir’s own performance of the Requiem on Thursday 4th February 2021 at 19:00 GMT. The link for this will be sent to you nearer the time.
