[MusicTlk] Newbie question: how to combine mp3 tracks

Hello:

 

     I have a friend who has recorded some .mp3 tracks of guitar music. I
want to add flute to the tracks. I am a PC user and by profession a computer
programmer and access technology specialist. I do not know much about music
software. If I record the flute on a separate .mp3 track, is there a way to
combine the two tracks, or is there a way to hear the guitar and play the
flute creating one track? Thank you and have a great day.
