[MusicTlk] Need some advice please

Thanks once again. I guess I misspoke re patches vs updates but I also guess I assumed the unit was updatable since they have been selling it for many years and I have to guess the tec has improved since it was introduced. Maybe I am wrong.
Anyway I am seeing more than one 202 HD.  I'll give em a closer look to see which I need. And this is all I need? I don't need any additional software, some kind of audio workstation or something?  Like I said total beginner in this area

Downloadable patches and updates are two different things. Downloadable patches are presets others created and saved on their unit, then uploaded to the boss Tone central site to share it with others. Updates add new features and or bug fixes to the device. Most boss multi effects units support preset or patch sharing, however how accessible the librarian software to manage and copy those patches to your unit  will be will be hit or miss. 
Audio interface allows you to connect stuff like the output of the ME80 to the computer . It’s got two inputs on the front, outputs on the back where you plug in the Studio monitors or speakers and connects to the computer via USB. They are also useful if you want to get into recording yourself on the computer as well. 
Studio monitors are the speakers  for recording and mixing/producig music.
