There are a few features that are challenging to the blind user but there are generally work-arounds. In addition to Reaper, you will need OSARA (Open Source Application for the Reaper Application, and the SWS extension. The latter two are what makes Reaper accessible eto JAWS. You can download Reaper for free under a 60-day trial period; however, I played around with it for more than a year and no Reaper police came after me! In the interest of full disclosure, the only reason I waited a year to pay for it was that I was not using it regularly and wanted to make sure I ws going to be able to use it. Purchasing Reaper is so much less expensive than other accessible DAWs at about $65. If you need help getting started with Reaper, I might be able to offer some guidance. There is also a very active discussion list - Reapers without Peepers (RWP). There are also tons of tutorials made by blind Reaper engineers to help you out! I hope this helps!

Downloadable patches are presets others created and saved on their unit, then uploaded to the boss Tone central site to share it with others. Updates add new features and or bug fixes to the device. Most boss multi effects units support preset or patch sharing, however how accessible the librarian software to manage and copy those patches to your unit will be will be hit or miss.

It’s got two inputs on the front, outputs on the back where you plug in the Studio monitors or speakers and connects to the computer via USB. They are also useful if you want to get into recording yourself on the computer as well.

The Behringer 202HD is probably the best bang for the buck option but Focusrite, 2i2 and SSL2+ are good options as well. As for monitors the iLoud Micro monitors are small and doesn’t take up a lot of room and still sound great, but the Kali Audio Lp6’s and Adam T5 are other I hear great things about.
