[MusicTlk] Decent accessible tuner for harp

Hi Alex and all.
Your Android app sounds like what I want, but I don't have an Android.
I tried the Soundcorset app yesterday. I have the unpaid version. I chose Tuner, allowed it to use the mic, played a note, and nothing happened. Is there more to it?
I have a little tuner I bought years ago that plays a note to tune to, but I'm not very good at matching it, especially with certain notes.
The Reaper software you mention sounds pretty complicated.
Still hoping for a better solution than Talking Tuner.
Tracy

Hi,
If you happen to have an Android as well, there is an app called gStrings. You choose either a string or a note, and you should hear auditory cues depending on whether the note is too flat or too sharp; when it is in tune, the app will play two tones of the same pitch.
On the iPhone side, I heard people talking about Soundcorset tuner & metronome, as well as Tuning Fork Pro. From what I’ve experienced so far (I admit I haven’t put so much time into these two apps), the most you can do is choose a note the app will play continuously, then try to tune the string according to the reference tone.
Last but not least, if you’re using a DAW like REAPER, you may wish to give a try to the GTune plug-in. You instantiate it on the input FX chain (last item in the context menu in REAPER), focus the plug-in’s UI (REAPER, again, that’s done by pressing F6), and your screen reader will basically tell you whether the note is in tune or how sharp or flat it is. See the download link below.

Hope this helps,
Alex
P.S. I am a tin whistle player myself, and I’d love to get musical scores. If I understand correctly, you have BRF files. Would you like to send some to me, too, at alexandrucozaciuc at gmail.com?
