[nabentre] supplemental income

Hi Liz,
For those of us who really want to look into this sort of thing, can you give us some concrete things we can do to investigate an opportunity to see if it's really legitimate? For example, I heard one of these commercials on the radio that sounds like a talk show host about a company that gives away a free CD that tells you how to make all this money in your sleep on Ebay and all of that kind of stuff. Common sense comes to the rescue and tells me that no-one usually gets anywhere without a lot of hard work, but the other side of me says that I need this thing because I can ... fill in the blank: get out of debt, take vacations, spend time with my kids, buy a fancy house, and all of that stuff. Before I pick up the phone and get sucked in, what should I do to check these people out? I guess I'm kind of wondering how you got from hearing that people could make a bunch of money to saying that whatever it is was a scam all in one paragraph. There must be a whole lot of thinking you didn't write down.

Thanks.

You bring up some excellent points Brian.

As a former newswriter and investigative reporter, I've had plenty of
personal experience uncovering more than one of these MLM/pyramid scams; a
scam is a scam is a scam regardless of what you call it.

One more comment I'd like to add, is that with the economy the way it is
right now, all sorts of scams are on the rise; this according to one of my
attorney clients.

Some of these scams are more, "In your face" than others.

For example, one radio ad here in LA-LA LAND says you can earn $10,000 a
week from your computer, and you don't even have to be home or have it on!
How's that for a blatent scam?

Chao!

Liz
