Hi, i agree with the user who said it is wide open, but for something that we can all discuss here and all benefit from, i'll assume you are looking at some company that has a complete "system" or "package" for which you follow their directions and basically are earning commission selling their products (even if they say the sistem isn't exactly like that). I choose this because it seems from life experience that that's what people mean when they say internet marketing or business.
I don't have any perfect rules, but some general advice:
Whatever the company claims, before you aggree to anything, pay anything or give any personal info, investigate the company on the net. This is hard because good reviews may be sponsored ads or just fake reviews by the organization, and bad reviews may be competitors sabotage or disgruntled eople who have dealt with the organization and lie or are emotionally "compromized" and can't get the facts straight.
Always read carefully before signing anything and keep detailed and organized records of things you are obligated to.
Walk slowly if they ask for money up front (some say never go with a group that asks you to make an investment, but i would say be cautious)
Walk away if they ask for an obscene amount to invest, or if they want social security or bank account numbers.
Never faithfully trust just one person's word unless you know their character to be good, very personally. And i personally don't care what any celebrity or rich man endorsement says--nothing at all guarantees that a household name is not a crook.
Don't believe if they say it is so easy you can make 5,000 a week while you sleep. Nothing in life worth having is that easy if anyone can do it. But still, don't be shy, if you're smart and willing to work hard and grow skills to rise to challenges, you can make at least average or good money after your venture has time to mature
