Oh wow -- I hope I can use your services... I'll keep you in mind.
I have one question: You specialize in blind or visually impaired
travelers -- do you also make provisions for disabled travelers in
wheelchairs? I want to go to convention this year, but can't get any family
members to go with me.
I would like to travel with a companion, as I need someone to push my chair
(it is manual) and also find where I need to go.
I don't want to try traveling alone due to medical problems that need to be
dealt with, preferably by a sighted person.
So if I can find someone to travel with, could you get me a good deal on air
fare and hotel for 2? This would obviously include reserving an accessible
room.
I can do that, but thought I'd as what services you take care of.
Thanks.

Hello Harley:

In my signature it lists my website. I am a Travel Agent. Started my
business officially October 2009.

I have have a website all about my services. I specialize in the usual
travel stuff as airlines, cruising, Disney Destinations.

But my niche to make me stand out is helping the Blind and Visually Impaired
to travel to places that they want to go, making sure they the places are
accessible. And also to educate and encourage the blind to travel and enjoy
their lives and not sit back and let it pass them by.

I have a few clients right now, and I am doing a couple of fundraising group
cruises, such as NAGDU, which information will be posted soon, and with the
Sierra Club here in NY. As well as a few other clients.

I am also doing some educating to the sighted about blind people traveling.
In fact, I am holding a training seminar via webinar with the company that I
work with Montrose Travel to educate the Travel agents like myself who are
home based agents to reach out to the blind community and to offer services,
what to ask when booking something like a cruise or a resort get away.
Marion Gwizdala the President of NAGDU is working with me on this. It will
take place on the 25th of this month.

I also have a newsletter, and that if you or anyone on the list is
interested is go to my website which is here and go to the contact us page
and register it comes out once a month right now.

And I have a blog, which I post daily and weekly specials for travel
blog.echevarriatravel.com if you subscribe to that you will get updates in
your e-mail box as well.

I came on the list to get help in way like asking accounting questions.

Maybe where to advertise, I don't have any print advertising right now
accept for my business cards, and on facebook and twitter. So maybe find
out some alternatives.

And maybe ask for some business here as well.

Convention is coming up and I can do airline tickets for those that need
them.

Currently, I hold the office of Treasurer of the Greater Long Island
Chapter, also a member of NAGDU and the Diabetic Action Network.

I had a story in the November issue of the Braille Monitor, because I still
hold my certification as a Medical Insurance Specialist.

Keep in touch.

  Hello Cheryl!
What kind of contracting do you do?
I'm also amazed that there is not much trafic here on this list...
Many of us could probably help each other if there was more involvement!

  I Love my Work!
I thank God for the talent to do what I do!
I'm a self-employed musician that does Gospel, Jazz, and old favorites.

I produce a free email newsletter telling about my music ministry.
I have a section called, "Snapshot from the Heart."
People get a free song each month.
  (it is an mp3.)
I also do a 60 second wave file each week called "Monday Morning
  Motivational Minute."
It has a separate email list.
It is from a Christian perspective, and it is also free.
