[nabentre] Response to Cheryl

In reference to Mr. Clark's opinion of the Travel agents dying out I have
some real statistics from ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) which I
am a member here on Long Island, after President Obama thought the same
thing a few weeks ago.

Here is the information.

ASTA said that the U.S. travel agency industry "is comprised of nearly
10,000 U.S.-based travel agency firms operating in 15,000 locations. We have
an annual payroll of $6.3 billion. Most importantly, our businesses produce
full-time employment for more than 120,000 U.S. taxpayers."

The letter also stated that the U.S. travel agency industry processes more
than $146 billion in annual travel sales, accounting for more than 50% of
all travel sold, including more than 50% of all airline tickets, more than
79% of tours and more than 78% of cruises."

It is one of the largest stay a home opportunities out there as well, that
is Just my own opinion.

Like anything it is what you make of it, if you put your heart and soul into
your business you can make something with it.

My business is only part of it, it is mine first of all, yes I am under a
host agency, but I own my own name Echevarriatravel.com and in about a year
or so, I might go totally on my own, but when I talk to others about this, I
give the good and bad about working with a real host agency and not a fly by
night company.

It helps me with my work with the NFB, which means giving talks to cruise
lines, land suppliers (such as hotels, theme parks, possible tour bus
company, tour companies) another part of me being in this field, it is not
always about the money you are making. It is what you are doing with your
business that at the end of the day, you feel you have accomplished
something with it.

If the idea is just to put money into your pocket, that is fine, but my
business isn't just that.

If I am being rude about this, or putting someone down, please let me know.
