I may need a web master myself. This topic is good because I need to build
a site, but I would like some help as well.

hello:
Wordpress would be your best bet. i wasn't sure if you needed
clarification there.
I've pasted in your requirements below:

1. one that is accessible

Wordpress is amazing for this, I use it quite often.

  2. one that will allow me to make money from advertizing/affiliations,
etc.

I do feel it's worth noting that hundreds and hundreds of people have blogs,
and all hundreds of them want to make money off adds. There are ways to go
about it (you could use links to earn you credit), add google adds, etc etc.
Wordpress allows for all of this, but I think it's important to determine
exactly how you want to use all of this information. If you have specific
ideas, I'd love to discuss them with you and try to help out.

  3. one that will allow me to use my own domain

This is greatly dependant on the site that you use and how much you want to
pay. For example, you can set one up through Dreamhost and then have say
Sarah at yourdomain.com be your email specifically for your blogging setup,
etc.

and 4. if available, one that will walk me through set up of the site,
adding content, etc using templets or some kind of automatic feature since I
really don't have any programming knowledge at all to create the pages,
control layout, etc. Or at the very least, something that can be set up to
allow me to easily do these things after someone else does the initial setup
for me.

The setup of the site usually takes a bit of knowledge in terms of
hosting, but I'd love to help you get that going if you need, as well as
install plugins. Something else you'll have to consider is keeping the
site up to date. Wordpress will need to be updated whenever a new
version comes out so that your site is not vulnorable to whatever
exploits they may patch in that version, etc.
