Hello all, 

I am new to this list, so want to introduce myself. Currently, I am employed full-time as a braille transcriber/proofreader. Before this job, I have done verbatim transcription work, and have done that since 1980 to the present. Along the way I also did a two-year certificate training program in massage therapy, although I never actually ventured into that career. 

Now, at the age of 49, I'm planning to go back to school this fall to take medical transcription. Our local technical college offers this one-year course, and I've decided to take it. My ultimate goal is to work from home again. 

As part of my career investigation for my college application, I need to conduct research into the field, etc. I want to connect with blind medical transcribers to discuss the job, access to resources, job modifications, etc. 

I will share more details if there is anyone out there who has information to share.
