Hello all,
Thank you for the information. I will look into the county courts here in
NM. I requested information from the two suggestions from the website I was
given. Thank you again for your assistance.
Tara

Hello all,

My name is Tar aChavez. I just graduated from the University of New Mexico,
Albuquerque campus with my BA in Linguistics. I am thinking about going into
the field of court reporting, but I'm not sure where to begin my search. I
don't know of any legitimate programs in my area since the one I knew of is
closing soon and only current students can continue in the program. If
anyone has information please contact me. I tried contacting an AFB mentor,
but that yielded no results, I've also checked out the Blind Lawyers
devision and they recommended checking with this list as well. Any other
suggestions are welcome and most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Tara

Try your county courts. Where do they recruit reporters?

I took the course about 12 years ago, if you are a fast typist, you have to
be faster, I actually changed to Legal Secretarial.

Let me know if you can manuever this page,

http://www.technical-schools-guide.com/albuquerque-newmexico-courtreporting-
schools.html<http://www.technical-schools-guide.com/albuquerque-newmexico-co
urtreporting-schools.html>

This gives a list of all the legitimate courses in the area.

It is not just typing, it is a lot of knowing short hand, and legal
terminology as well. It is also good for the closed captions for hearing
impaired, etc.
