[nabop] Anyone out there using COGNOS with JAWS?

Hello,

 

I am an Office Assistant 2 for the state of New York, working in the Center
for Employment and Economic Supports for the Office of Temporary and
Disability Assistance, serving as a team lead in the SSI/SSP work unit.
While a majority of my work-related tasks have proven to be doable with
JAWS, I recently got access to the COGNOS report creation tool manufactured
by ibm. Our office uses it to develop meaningful and manageable reports on
our large database of client records. It has the potential to be a very
valuable tool for tracking productivity and pinpointing ways to increase
efficiency or spot errors before they become trends. However, I am finding
it extremely difficult to use the program with JAWS, unless someone else
creates a report and sends the resulting material to me as an Excel
spreadsheet.

 

I am currently responsible for training and supervising staff. I plan to
continue moving upward in the management ladder, so I'd appreciate any
feedback from anyone who has used COGNOS in the past, regardless of whether
it was a successful experience or not.
