[nabs-l] hello all

Canada has an NFB, I'm not sure if that's exactly what they call it, but
they just recently had their convention. Does anyone know how Andrew could
maybe get in contact with that organization? It is very liberating when you
are around competent blind people.

Hi Andrew. I understand how you feel. I have felt that way about people at
my college for a long time. Unfortunately so many people view someone with a
disability less of a person. This is something that we need to change. We
need to show people that just because we are blind, we can still do things
that everyone else does. I would suggest that you do not let these people
get to you. Don't let your blindness get in the way of anything. Just be
yourself, and don't let your blindness define who you are. Is there any kind
of clubs and organizations you can get involved in? This could be a good way
to meet new people and a way to make new friends. Do you have a NFB chapter
where you are? Just get yourself out there so people can see how much fun
you are. Talk soon.
