[nabs-l] Recording NABS meeting

Hello Antonio and listers,

This is true but the old adage, "Walk before you run" must apply.
Videotaping proceedings of a meeting is far easier than filming footage of
blind people engaged in various activities. Perfecting our ability to
videotape meetings and developing the alternative techniques for doing so is
far easier than videoing the march for independence. The national
organization produces both audio and video recordings of all convention
sessions from which portions such as the banquet speech and the presidential
report are posted to the Web site. My own feeling about that is that if
we're going to go through all of that time, trouble, and expense more of the
convention video should be posted to the Web site; not just those two
presentations. This was done with Betsy Zabarowski's Memorial Service and
the Lewis Braille Coin Launch Ceremony. Here's hoping that the 2009
Convention Highlights will include both audio and video versions of
convention presentations.

Aren't there other things, and other types of videos we can be doing to
prove our abilities?

Isn't the purpose of recording a NABS meeting to provide our membership and
others the content of the conference?

I just can't justify the expense, in order to prove a point. there are other
efforts, real live person to person ones that we should be concerned with to
preserve and improve our image.
