[nabs-l] Recording NABS Meetings, The Gold Standard

Good evening everyone,

The computer and Internet gremlins are hard at work here this weekend.
We just upgraded to AT&T Uverse. Our hard-wired PCS are rocking, but my
wife's computer and my laptop, (Both of which are using a wireless
connection are having stomachaches. AT&T will hear from us bright and early
on Monday.

Now let's try this again. Recording meetings is a wonderful way to
provide those unable to attend the convention a glimpse of what they can
expect when attending such events. Listening, or watching our meetings and
activities only gives you half of the experience. The gold standard of the
convention experience is a total immersion in to one of these conferences
and what being there in person can offer attendees. It's one thing to hear
or view a description of how blind people travel with a white cane, but
quite another to have an experienced cane user show you the proper way to
use the long white cane. Having audio and video recordings of your
convention experience is a great keep-sake but experiencing NFB activities
in person is the gold standard and one every blind person should have.
