hello rachel and all,

first of all i want to congratulate all of the people who have told us here on the list that they are national scholarship winners this year. this is awesome news and i look forward to meeting you all this summer in michigan my home state!

for those of you who don't know who i'am but, already know i will introduce myself to you all. my name is amy sabo and i'm from colorado but, i'm originaklly from michigan. i will be going back to school in the fall to finally finish my degree in communications with a emphasis in public relations at metro state college in denver. i had to transfer to here after being at the unoiversity of colorado-denver for about 5 years but, i found that ucd was too academically and financially challenging for me with many issues to say!

i had to take off another year due to medical issues which i had in january and also with my knee issues too has made me take longer with my academic career.

anyway, thanks for the awesome news and i will talk to you all soon!

hugs always,
from amy

Subject: [nabs-l] introduction and national convention

Hello. My name is Rachel Jacobs. I just wanted to introduce myself to those of you who do not know me. I live in Sarasota, Florida. I attend the University of South Florida where I am receiving my masters degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I am the president of the Manasota Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind. It is named Manasota because it encompasses both Sarasota and Manatee counties. I am also the vice president of the Florida Association of Blind Students. I will be attending my first national convention this year in Detroit. I am a national scholarship winner this year. I was wondering first if any of you are scholarship winners this year. Secondly, I was wondering if any of you have been scholarship winners in the passed, and if so if you could give me a run down of what to expect. Also, if you have just been to national if you could give me an idea of what to expect as well. I am very excited to be going, and I hope to meet a lot of you there!

Thanks,

Rachel Jacobs
