Hello Serena:

     I think it depends on how involved the Stats course is. A knowledgeable 
reader would be a good idea. A simple introductory course might not require 
a brailled book, but I think a more advanced course would certainly require 
a brailled text. You might want to check out the Statistics course from 
Touch Graphics. This course uses the Talking Tactile Tablet. The link for
