Wikibooks has an excelent book on learning LaTeX. You can either search
for it yourself if you want the multipage version, or here's a link to
the single page html version which it calls the "printable version".

Feel free to ask if you want any guidance on using LaTeX. I've learned a
few tricks in my use of it which are not mentioned in the book. I have a
professor who uses it extensively and he's been a help in getting things
to work the way I wanted them.
