Amy,
What version of blackboard is it? I hear the new one is supposed to be more 
accessible.
For your quizzes explain to the professor the problem.  Maybe go to a 
computer and show him.
How about either doing the quizzes with him or a reader.

Make sure you tell the disabilities office about the accessibility problems 
too.
