Hi

Video hooks or GDI graphic display interface hooking is a way for a 
screen reader to get access to a lot more information on the screen 
without having to install special drivers. I'm not sure of the 
technicalities of it but it lets the screen reader give you a lot more 
information along with having a cursor like the jaws cursor and being 
able to be scripted to work with nearly any application you need it to 
work with.
