Hi Justin,
You have to use some kind of PDF program, like Adobe Reader or
Sumantra PDF. I like Sumantra because you don't have to do
anything. It automatically scans the PDF and opens it in a
readable format. You then have the option to save it (control s)
or print it (control p.) I haven't figured out how to save the
document as a Word or plain text file (the only options it gives
me are PDF and all files,) so I usually print it, then scan it
with Kurzweil. These are the same options my PC gives me when I
open a file from a thumb drive. Does anybody know how to convert
a scanned PDF file to a Word or text format without going through
some kind of converter program"Hope this helps!

Subject: [nabs-l] Reading PDF Documents with JAWS
Hello All,
Hope you are doing well. I have a question for you. In my
experience
with pdf files it seems like JAWS is selective in which it wishes
to
read and those it wishes not to read. Have any others
experienced
this? How do we get the ones that don't want to be read to do
so? I
must admit I don't know much about PDFs.
Any suggestions, ideas, comments are appreciated.
Justin
