[nabs-l] Rosetta Stone accessibility for online Spanish class?

Hi,
Yes, but the only accessible alternative I can think of is Hadley's Spanish
course. When I contacted Hadley's student services, I was told this course
is currently under revision, so they couldn't answer my questions about
whether or not I could be taught how to write Spanish on a computer until
they have a better idea of the new revisions to this class. Furthermore, I
do know that you can't get college credit from Hadley courses as they are
continuing education credits.
Although these Spanish classes aren't required for my degree, I know it is
very important to know a foreign language in the workplace today, and
Spanish is my foreign language of choice.
I took Spanish for a year in high school, and I don't even want to talk
about finding out my Braille embosser wasn't equipped to emboss the special
symbols and characters and still being required to use Braille for all tests
and assignments rather than audio! Needless to say, my school district
refused to purchase a better embosser. Therefore, I struggled mightily in
this class and missed crucial aspects of learning Spanish!

In Christ, Miranda

According to the IDEA, they're supposed to let you use accessible
alternatives.

Hi,
I'm wondering if they would allow me to use an older version if I explain
about the accessibility?
Thanks, and have a great week!

Aleeha, the version released in 2004, is accessible.
I'm afraid that the newer versions aren't accessible, so it's important to
find out which version of the program the university uses.

There is a similar thread going on another list. I have learned that Rosetta
stone uses images with no description to teach.
