You might be able to find a template, into which you edit text etc.

You could talk to your professor to find out what is the exact 
purpose of the assignment.  This might change how you would do 
it.  If it is literally to design a brochure then you will have to 
deal with formatting etc.  If it is to develop content, then 
formatting might not matter.  You could also work with a Human Reader 
instructing them in what to do.
