HIMS is another manufacture of technology for the blind, like
Humanware. They make the BrailleSense.

"The real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight. The
real problem is the misunderstanding and lack of education that
exists. If a blind person has the proper training and
opportunity, blindness can be reduced to a mere physical
nuisance."

 Chris,
No petition from me; however, I will write down my suggestions
for products
and improvements for the braille note; sad to hear you think
they are not
listening; I suppose it’s the nature of a large business.
I'd say don't give up and keep giving your feedback to them as a
informed
 customer.

Do you think we'd get enough signatures? And send the petition
to
who, Humanware? I'm sorry to be pesemistic here, but I highly
doubt they'll listen to a petition; they won't listen to
BrailleNote users' suggestions on the BrailleNote list and in
direct emails/calls to Humanware, and plus they won't keep their
promises when it comes to new features in the BrailleNote that
they promise will come in the next Keysoft upgrade, but they
never do. HIMS is blowing them out of the water, and Humanware
doesn't even seem to get the point! That's just my soapbox
 though.

Wow that's sad! Ashley, I'm with you when it comes to just
 putting a book in
a player! That is so much easyer especially if people like me
 don't have any
of those things to download to!

 Hi all,
I like the ease of daisy cds.
But products for them are being discontinued.

Increasingly, we are getting only devices that play sd cards so
 you have
 to
download books. That is fine if you are tech savvy and have an
 internet
connection and the site is accessible. For some, those
 variables do not
 exist though.
Besides, I want to just pop a book in a player; its easier than
 downloading
 for me.
I was on learning ally's site and saw this disappointing news.
 Well, I
actually knew they discontinued the classic and bibe.
 It said,
"The following players are no longer available for purchase at
 Learning
Ally, but training and support materials are available for the
 Victor
 Reader
Wave, Victor Reader Vibe and Victor Reader ClassicX+ "
The players they sell include the plextalk and vr stream.
