If you double click on the edit button and scroll through the 
contact, you should see something that says, "Delete contact." 
Double click on it. The phone will ask you to confirm the 
deletion. Double tap again, and that contact will be deleted.

Hi all,
I am a new iPhone user and was wonderingif  someone could tell me 
how to deleate a contact from my list? I know you can double 
click on the contact and hit the edit button, but it doesn't seem 
that the name of the contact is removed from the list. Thanks for 
any suggestions!
