[nabs-l] Daisy desktop applications for Macs

It depends on what kind of daisy she wants to read. If they are daisy audio from Learning Ally, they distribute their own version of read here which is free. If she is using text only daisy books from bookshare, the cleanest option is to open the xml file contained in the unzipped daisy folder and read it in Safari using Voiceover.

If she is getting daisy audio from another source and already owns a victor reader stream or some other digital player, loading them onto a device may be easier and cheaper than paying for the full version of read here.

There is a free program for mac that is supposed to play daisy books called olearia, but the last time I tried it, I couldn't get it to work.

These are the solutions I know about and use. Hope this helps.
