My mother taught chemistry for 40 years. She would use that skill to take
noodles, or anything which was tactual and make things for me to feel.

Subject: [nabs-l] Accessibility in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry

Hello,

I'd like to learn about adaptive ways for studying organic and biochemistry
for students with little or no usable vision. I myself fall into this
category. I graduated from Cornell in 2012, with a degree in animal science,
and now am planning to go back for graduate studies in animal physiology.

While at Cornell I concentrated in dairy farm management, and food science.
Unfortunately I did not have the time and finances to take the core
microbiology, genetics, calc II, and chemistries that would have made for an
easier transition and stronger application to graduate studies.

Presently I am looking into taking the full year of organic chemistry (lec
and lab), and at least one semester of biochemistry. I've heard of
Independent Science and wondered if someone could share their first hand
experiences using the probe ware. Any suggestions as how to take notes,
study, and various formats others have used to read course material in these
classes, and other resources would be greatly appreciated too.

Kind regards,

Zac

P.S. This might be really pushing the envelope, but I wondered if anyone
might have experience taking orgo and biochem online? The nearest school in
the US that offers these courses are a couple hours' drive from where I
live.
