[nabs-l] Editing mp3 files

Thank you to all those who replied.
I ended up using a software called mp3 direct cutter, which a friend of 
mine (not subscribed to this listserve) suggested.
However, I may look into the suggestions you all have given me down the 
road.

In regards to Audacity, I believe accessibility has been improving and 
there is apparently a listserve for blind Audacity users, but I don't 
think it's fully accessible.

Audacity may or may not be accessible to you.  I used it a lot several
years ago, but I often had to stop using jaws and switch to a
magnifier program to do things like select and cut different portions
of the file.  The menues were basically the only accessible part of
it, and the built in hot keys for simple tasks like "record" "pause"
"play," etc.

I might look into using Sound Forge myself.  I was able to find this
link.  It doesn't say that there is a price on the web site, but it's
possible that it charges durring the installation process.

Amazon sells it for a little under $200, but that's not terribly bad
if you plan on doing a lot of audio editing that would make this a
long-term investment for you.

Another program to consider if $200 is beyond your budget now is
Reeper.  Admittedly I don't know a ton about this program and have not
used it myself, but I know a lot of blind people who do use it with
great success.
