Ashley, thank you for expressing your concerns about Learning Ally's
decision to phase out our CDs. We have considered this process very
carefully. Most schools, TVI's and individuals who are blind or visually
impaired are now using the download process and find it to be very
user-friendly.

Over the past two years, Learning Ally has worked hard to improve our
download process and to increase our choice of listening options. The
older download manager was not a very accessible option for blind people,
so we worked hard to ensure that you can now set your account to download
the DAISY zip files, bipassing the download manager altogether.

The books are now compatible with our iPhone app and our Android app. But
they are also compatible with a wide variety of Daisy compatible playback
devices for people who are blind or visually impaired, including the NLS
player, which is free to any NLS consumer. The bookshelf functions on
these players will help you to identify each book, even if you have several
books on a thumb drive.

I've used Learning Ally books as a student and as a professional. I find
the app to be very intuitive, but I also love being able to listen to books
on the Stream or the BrailleNote.

If you would like a tutorial, Mary, the BVI specialist in Member Success,
would be happy to call you to walk through the downloading process and to
make sure it goes smoothly for you. Please email me off the list at
kwitucki at learningally.org, and I'll connect you to her quickly. Or you can
call Member Success at 800-221-4792 and ask to speak to Mary McLaughlin.
If she is on another call, she'll call you back as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
