You are correct. There's not an accessible way that I know of to
label specific sections of the chart. The question I ask is: how
is the chart situated? With Excel, you can place the chart on its
own chart sheet, or you can embed the chart or graph in the same
worksheet as your data. If you have any questions, please email
me at: kidbrailler at aol.com, and I'll help you as best as I am
able.

Sincerely

Alonza.

 Hi Christina,
As far as I know, it's not possible to label a chart that
someone else
has created using JAWS. Excel charts usually have a sheet
associated
with them that contains the actual data. You can try opening
the chart
and then pressing control-page up or page down to see if there
is a
data sheet associated with the chart. If you are the one
creating the
chart from scratch, you will create the data worksheet first,
insert
the chart and then you can click on an axis to label it.
I think it may be worthwhile to recruit a reader for jus 15-20
minutes
 to help with the labeling.
 Best, Arielle

 Hi Everyone,

Sorry for another message to the list. I am very new to Excel
and
while I have had some classes on it, they only covered basics
such as
 budgeting Etc.
I am currently trying to figure out how to have JAWS read charts
and
graphs and to label charts and graphs. Every time I am on a
chart or
graph, I find that JAWS does not say anything and so I am unsure
how
to interact with the chart or graph and label the parts I need
to
 label.
If anyone knows where I can find a free very useful resource on
Excel
with JAWS, please let me know.
If you know how to do this, please share those tips too.
 Thanks.
 Christina
