[nabs-l] Excel: Charts and Graphs with JAWS 17

In older versions of Excel, the chart would auto-select. I don't know
if that is still the case with newer versions of Excel or if a sighted
person needs to click the chart element you want to label. Generally
when I create charts, I use sighted help anyway to make sure that the
axes are visually scaling correctly so that differences in the heights
of columns are apparent. I prefer to enter the data and then ask a
sighted person for ten minutes of help making a chart. The sighted
helper doesn't necessarily need to be an Excel whiz but should know
the basics-even a family member or friend over the phone could help
you if you email your paper to them. That said, if someone has figured
outhow to make an Excel chart completely independently that was
acceptable to a sighted instructor or other audience, I'd love to
learn.
Best, Arielle
