Dear students,
I am consulting with a psychology department that is designing a
series of teaching modules to make the modules as accessible as
possible. For each module, there is a PowerPoint presentation which
includes graphs, and a handout that is meant to be completed in-class.
The graphs in the PowerPoint have alt tags, and they are described in
detail using the notes pane of each slide. There are also
tactile/braille versions of the graphs that are very well-done. the
package is very accessible to a PC user. However, I am curious about
the most accessible format for those of you who use IOS or a braille
notetaker in class. Are you guys able to open up a PowerPoint
presentation in class and access the notes pane on your notetaker or
iPad? What about a Word document with tables? If these PC formats
don't work well, is there another format the authors can use that will
open properly on a braille notetaker or iPad/other Apple device?
Thanks for any advice, and feel free to reply on-list as your
techniques may help other students.
Arielle
