Dear Chris,
I just want to join the others in acknowledging the service and
leadership you have given NABS. I also commend you for showing
self-awareness and humility in recognizing when it is time to step
aside or to change your role. As you know, there are many different
ways to serve the Federation, and I believe that recognizing how you
can best serve is a vital and underappreciated aspect of good
leadership. It is often difficult, but important, to be able to admit
when we may have fallen short of expectations, so I commend you for
having the courage to do so.
It has been a pleasure watching you grow up since you first joined the
NABS listserv on the heels of my presidency in 2011. Although we have
not yet interacted face-to-face much, I have always enjoyed your
thoughtful posts here on the listserv. Now that I am officially a
Maryland resident, I look forward to working with you in the Maryland
affiliate, and if you ever want to get the perspective of a past NABS
leader as you work through your state student division business, don't
hesitate to reach out.

Cordially, Arielle
